Congratulations to Neil Ackerman, Eagle Scout Award recipient! Neil is currently a sophomore at Reitz Memorial High School where he is a member of the marching band, pep band, archery team, Key Club, Art Club, and the Academic Super Bowl team. Neil began scouting in 2007 when he joined Pack 349 as a Cub Scout at Holy Spirit School, and he earned his Arrow of Light. In 2011, he transferred to Troop 312 as a Boy Scout at Holy Rosary Parish. He has held several offices including, assistant patrol leader, chaplain aid, Venturing Crew secretary, and Venturing Crew Vice-President. He is also a member of the Order of the Arrow. Neil has earned 42 merit badges, and in 2014 received the Ad Altare Dei religious emblem. He is currently a member of the Venturing Crew 312. In June 2015, Neil traveled to Cimarron, New Mexico to backpack at the Philmont Scout Ranch. Neil’s Eagle Scout service project involved the creation of seven concrete planters to provide both aesthetics and a visual barrier for students, faculty, staff and visitors to Reitz Memorial High School. On September 10, 2015, Neil completed his Eagle Board of Review and was approved. He would like to thank all those who donated their time, talent and monies to help complete his Eagle Scout service project.
