All Saints Parish Picnic

All You Saints – You have been busy this year! From the Fall Festival Booth, Family Faith Formation Sundays, Women in Ministry events , A-Men’s Club activities, our Hospitality teams, Bereavement Teams, Worship teams, our committee work and our Parish Council members. Thank you for your commitment to All Saints Parish.

Join us on September 22 for the All Saints Parish Picnic at the St. Anthony Parish Center following the 10:30 am Mass at St. Anthony Church. Join your Parish Family for an afternoon of games for all ages, picnic food, fun and great conversation

Your Justice challenge this week is two-fold: Do something special for the grandparents in your own family; but also identify an older person or couple in your community who suffer injustice in some way. It might be the injustice of loneliness, in which case a visit and a conversation would be great. It might be poverty; bringing a food basket or household supplies would be appropriate. Once your family identifies the elder in need, brainstorm the best way to help which also gives dignity and honor.
No matter what you choose to do, find a way to let the elder share a life story or some wisdom with you from the perspective of many, many years of living. And don’t forget to thank them for the gift of their wisdom.

My name is Tom Bogenschutz. I am All Saints` Director of Ministry Development which means I try to connect people with meaningful ways they can serve the parish and the greater community. I also do things such as facilitate the OCIA program and help lead other adult faith formation activities. I am just completing my 9th year at All Saints. One of my other passions is nature and care of our earth. I helped found and lead a local non-profit called Tri-State Creation Care. We engage in many activities from encouraging wildflower sanctuaries to EVs for EVV, an electric vehicle festival that happens in late September. Accordingly, some of my favorite activities are camping, hiking, and biking.
