High School Youth Ministry
All Saints Youth Ministry is a part of the LifeTeen International Youth Ministry program geared toward High School students. Using those materials, as well as drawing on the interests of the youth involved, we seek to help teens foster their relationship with Christ, as well as with each other in a safe and joy filled environment.
We meet after the 5 p.m. Praise Mass on Sundays, in the Youth Room at the St. Anthony Campus. Dinner is provided by our wonderful parishioners and the nights can vary on theme and topic from current events, to mysteries of the Church, and sometimes to just hang out and socialize.
Our Youth Group extends beyond just Sunday nights. Below are some highlights of programs and events that we have throughout the year.
We recognize that we are called to help those around us when they need a hand up. Our service has included mission trips out of state, our annual STAYcation event, as well as various one-time a year service opportunities like: Christmas Caroling at local nursing homes, sorting clothes for our Clothing Closet, helping with the Soup Kitchen on Wednesdays, raking leaves…etc.
- Hang Outs
On the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month September-April the Youth Room is open from 5-7 p.m. for socializing. The plans for the night depend on the whims of the group that gathers, and activities range from video games, to going to our nearby field and playing games, or watching movies.
- Pilgrimage For Life
Every January the Diocese of Evansville, along with dioceses, Pro-Life groups of other faiths, and individuals across the country take part in a trip to Washington D.C. onthe anniversary of Roe v. Wade to bring the message to the public that we are a Pro-Life Church and that we believe that life is sacred from conception to natural death.
All Saints Youth Group will join with the Evansville Diocese for the bus ride and touring activities that are focused around creating a Pro-Life culture and touching on many topics according to the Social Justice teachings of the Catholic Church in regards to the dignity of human life.
This event traditionally happens during Spring Break of the school year, but due to Spring Break coordinating with Holy Week in 2016, it will be taking place in the summer. STAYcation is an opportunity for All Saints Youth Group to stay at St. Anthony for a week and be involved in service opportunities throughout the city. We understand the need to give back to our parish that gives so much to us, and also to work for our community and make it a better place. During the day the teens will perform service, with different social and spiritual activities taking place at night.
In 2015 All Saints Youth Group will be travelling to Indianapolis, Indiana for the National Catholic Youth Conference that is held from November 19th-21st. It is a national gathering of Catholic speakers, musical acts, Liturgy, speeches, workshops, and getting to interact with teens from across the country.
