Any good farmer will tell you that regardless of how good the quality of the seed, its sprouting and bearing of effective fruit is dependent upon the quality of the soil. Preparing the soil is one of the most essential components of farming. There is no doubt that the seed of God’s Word will eventually achieve its purpose. God cannot and will not fail. When and how that seed bears fruit is, however, dependent upon us. What is the quality and condition of your soil? Life’s concerns and preoccupations can cause us to become inattentive to our inner life. This sometimes unintentional neglect can result in our soil becoming hard, overgrown with weeds, rocky, parched, and lifeless. When God’s seed is sown, it doesn’t always take root because it struggles to establish roots and flourish. How can you more attentively attend to the soil of your heart so that it will be a fertile and vital place for the fruit of the Gospel to grow?

Cualquier buen agricultor te dirá que, independientemente de cuán buena sea la calidad de la semilla, su germinación y producción de fruta efectiva depende de la calidad de la tierra. Preparar la tierra es uno de los componentes más esenciales de la agricultura. No hay duda de que la semilla de la Palabra de Dios eventualmente logrará su propósito. Dios no puede fallar y no lo hará. Sin embargo, cuándo y cómo esa semilla da fruto depende de nosotros. ¿Cuál es la calidad y el estado de tu tierra? Los asuntos y preocupaciones de la vida pueden hacer que no prestemos atención a nuestra vida interior. Esta negligencia a veces involuntaria puede hacer que nuestro suelo se vuelva duro, cubierto de malezas, rocoso, reseco y sin vida. Cuando se siembra la semilla de Dios, no siempre se arraiga porque lucha por establecer raíces y florecer. ¿Cómo puedes atender más atentamente la tierra de tu corazón para que sea un lugar fértil y vital para que crezca el fruto del Evangelio?
