Grace and sin are found together. As much as our hearts long for union with God, there is always that part of us that resists. As much as I wholeheartedly believe in God, there is a dimension of disbelief with which I also wrestle. Even though we may seek purity and integrity in all of our thoughts, words, and deeds, there is also the path toward weakness and sin that we find ourselves traversing. Just as weeds can easily overtake the best of gardens, so too can weakness and sin overtake and overwhelm a person. The call is to realize the power the weeds of sin have to choke us off from God’s presence. While God allows the wheat and the weeds to exist together, we must keep our eyes fixed on God’s mercy and forgiveness and resist the death that comes from giving way to sin and evil. In God’s time, the eternal harvest will come, and we will no longer have to worry about the weeds. For now, we must be vigilant and regularly seek the assistance of the Master Gardener.

VIVIR LA LITURGIA ~ INSPIRACIÓN DE LA SEMANA
La gracia y el pecado se encuentran juntos. Por mucho que nuestros corazones anhelen la unión con Dios, siempre existe esa parte de nosotros que se resiste. Por mucho que creo de todo corazón en Dios, existe una dimensión de incredulidad con la que también lucho. Aunque podemos buscar pureza e integridad en todos nuestros pensamientos, palabras y obras, también existe el camino hacia la debilidad y el pecado que nos encontramos atravesando. Así como las malas hierbas pueden sobrepasar fácilmente a los mejores jardines, también la debilidad y el pecado pueden sobrepasar y abrumar a una persona. El llamado es darnos cuenta del poder que tienen las malas hierbas del pecado para sacarnos de la presencia de Dios. Si bien Dios permite que el trigo y las malas hierbas existan juntos, debemos mantener nuestros ojos fijos en la misericordia y el perdón de Dios y resistir la muerte que viene de dar paso al pecado y al mal. En el tiempo de Dios, vendrá la cosecha eterna, y ya no tendremos que preocuparnos por las malas hierbas. Por ahora, debemos estar vigilantes y buscar regularmente la ayuda del Maestro Jardinero.
