In the time of Jesus, a Roman coin bore the image of Caesar and it was precisely this coin that was returned to the emperor in the form of tax. What bears God’s image? Scripture tells us that human beings are made in the likeness and image of God. In truth, however, all of creation, even the entire universe, is fashioned in the image of God! Everything radiates Divine Presence and the spark and essence of God’s very life exists in all things. God breathes the life of Himself into all things. If we have to give back to civil authorities what speaks to them, then what do we give back to God? While the answer is simple, the implications are profound. We are asked to give back to God our very selves! Ultimately, all creation is in the process of returning to God and is on a journey of finding its final truth and essence in Him. As we continue that journey, all we have, all we are, all we see, and all we are responsible for must be offered back to Him. God is the beginning and the end of all things. Do our lives reflect this Divine allegiance?

VIVIR LA LITURGIA ~ INSPIRACIÓN DE LA SEMANA
En el tiempo de Jesús, una moneda romana tenía la imagen del César y era precisamente esta moneda la que era devuelta al emperador en forma de impuesto. ¿Qué lleva la imagen de Dios? Las Escrituras nos dicen que los seres humanos están hechos a imagen y semejanza de Dios. ¡En verdad, sin embargo, toda la creación, incluso el universo entero, está hecha a imagen de Dios! Todo irradia Presencia Divina y la chispa y esencia de la vida de Dios existe en todas las cosas. Dios respira la vida de sí mismo en todas las cosas. Si tenemos que devolver a las autoridades civiles lo que les llama, ¿qué le devolvemos a Dios? Si bien la respuesta es simple, las implicaciones son profundas. ¡Se nos pide que le devolvamos a Dios nuestro propio ser! En ultima instancia, toda la creación está en el proceso de regresar a Dios y está en un viaje para encontrar su verdad y esencia final en Él. A medida que continuamos ese viaje, todo lo que tenemos, todo lo que somos, todo lo que vemos, y todo de lo que somos responsables debe ser devueltos a Él. Dios es el principio y el final de todas las cosas. ¿Nuestras vidas reflejan esta lealtad divina?
