Live the Liturgy ~ Inspiration for the Week

God calls us to bring His Word to all corners of the earth. What does that mean for you and me? We are just simple and humble folks trying to find our way through the Gospel and our world. After all, we are not professional preachers but gentle servants. Jesus summons us to take his message on the road and bring it from the pew to the pavement. We cannot keep the joy of the Gospel to ourselves but must bring it into every aspect of our lives: our families, our schools, our work, our corporations, our politics, our social circles, and our philosophies. We cannot just accept the wisdom of the world as true and conduct our lives as if the Good News is a separate matter. They are one. Jesus never asked his friends to go and construct buildings where people could come to hear the truth. He asked them to go to their homes and meet them one on one, face to face. When the rubber meets the road and the message is challenging, rejection is quite possible. That’s the litmus test for whether we’re really doing what we have been asked.

VIVIR LA LITURGIA ~ INSPIRACIÓN DE LA SEMANA (Live the Liturgy)

Dios nos llama a llevar Su Palabra a todos los rincones de la tierra. ¿Qué significa eso para ti y para mí? Nosotros somos gente sencilla y humilde que trata de encontrar nuestro camino a través del Evangelio y nuestro mundo. Después de todo, no somos predicadores profesionales, sino siervos apacibles. Jesús nos llama a llevar su mensaje al camino y llevarlo del banco al pavimento. No podemos guardarnos el gozo del Evangelio para nosotros, sino que debemos llevarlo a todos los aspectos de nuestras vidas: nuestras familias, nuestras escuelas, nuestro trabajo, nuestras corporaciones, nuestra política, nuestros círculos sociales y nuestras filosofías. No podemos simplemente aceptar la sabiduría del mundo como verdadera y conducir nuestras vidas como si la Buenas Nueva fuera un asunto aparte. Son uno. Jesús nunca les pidió a sus amigos que fueran a construir edificios donde la gente pudiera venir a escuchar la verdad. Les pidió que fueran a sus casas y se encontraran con ellos uno a uno, cara a cara. Cuando la teoría se pone a prueba y el mensaje es desafiante, el rechazo es bastante posible. Esa es la prueba de fuego para saber si realmente estamos haciendo lo que se nos ha pedido.
