Annual Creation Care Conference

Vatican Director of the Laudato Si’ Platform to speak in Evansville:

Tri-State Creation Care will be holding its Annual Creation Care Conference on Saturday, February 25th at Aldersgate United Methodist Church (5130 Lincoln Ave).  

The 2023 Tri-State Creation Care Conference       

This Saturday, Feb. 25, 9 am (CST) – Noon  (doors open 8:30) at Aldersgate UMC, 5130 Lincoln Ave., Evansville

We highlight artist Dawn Murtaugh at this year’s conference.  Dawn’s specialty is recycled fabric art.  Inspired by the photos coming out of the James Webb space observatory, she has created cosmic images using tiny pieces of fabric.  Her work is truly unique.  In addition, proceeds of any piece sold will be donated to Tri-State CC.

IMPORTANT:  Lincoln Ave has been closed to thru traffic which includes the main entrance of Aldersgate.  It is possible to drive thru the barriers to the front entrance, but it is more convenient to enter thru their back entrance.  Coming from the west on the Loyd Expressway, turn right on Cullen Ave. (at Harrison H. S.)  Coming from the east, go down Lincoln Ave and turn right onto Cullen.  Consult the map below.  

John Mundell, the Pope Francis appointed Director of the Vatican’s Laudato Si’ Platform, will give the keynote address. The conference will also include breakout sessions on gardening, energy efficiency, and a youth presentation on the environment. 

The event begins at 9 am and lasts to noon with registration beginning at 8:30. It is free and all are welcome.
