Disciples on a Journey
November 5, 2023
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are burdened.”
Mt. 11:23
People reaching for God and God reaching for people. We can’t get there on our own.
In today’s Gospel we hear: “Call no one on earth your father; you have but one Father in heaven. Do not be called ‘Master’; you have but one master, the Christ.
The greatest among you must be your servant.”
Putting God at the center of life…
I was part of a conversation last week about the importance of putting the needs of other people first.
That led me to remember the thought….to put God first, others next and yourself last. I think my ability to put God first is a combination of what I’ve been taught, how I have come to understand my Catholic faith, and my personality. It is a daily choice for me to realize that I need to put God at the center of my life.
So, I must always consider, “what does it mean to be a servant?” What does it mean to you to be a servant? Who do you serve? How do you balance the needs in your life of being a servant and also keeping yourself physically, mentally and spiritually healthy? ~Sharon
