All Things are Possible…?

John 6:1-15

We are given an image of abundance this week. Fives loaves of bread and two fish feed a crowd that would take a small fortune to feed if the food had been bought and a huge amount is left over at that. Philip is the focus of this story because he expresses what we all say in such moments – “this is impossible”. When hard things meet a lack of faith, we never get anywhere.

God is not given the chance to magnify our small efforts to accomplish the impossible. We lose out. The world loses out. Our response needs to be, “true, this is a far reach but maybe by the Grace of God it can come to be.”
