Rejoice!

Dec. 11, Mt 11:2-11

One guarantee of life is that it will always have its tribulations and challenges. It’s hard to maintain a sense of hope and optimism in difficult times. Hope is a gift, a grace, and like the other graces we receive we must seek it out, grow in our awareness of it, and be grateful for it. This is a discipline. It requires our constant effort to practice a spirituality of hope that flows from our relationship with the Lord. This Sunday is Gaudate Sunday. As of St. Paul reminds “Rejoice. Rejoice in the Lord always.” If we constantly practice that, then even in the midst of hard times hope and joy will prevail and carry us.
