The Empty Tombs
April 9, John 20:1-9
We hear from the Gospel that Peter and the other disciple ran to the tomb. The other disciple does not come to believe until he enters the tomb. It is only when he descends into the place of death that he sees and believes in the resurrection.
We too, in our own unique way, must enter and embrace the non-living spaces of our life to find new life. It could be a dead relationship, a long-held grudge, a hurt that has festered for a long time, any number of kinds of tombs in our life. If we can courageously trust and stand in those places with faith, new life, the resurrection is made real. What are the tombs of my life where I can meet the Risen Lord?
