Our Help in the Storms of Life
Aug. 13 Mt. 14:22-33
Storms are inevitable in life. Being caught in a flimsy fishing boat in the middle of the Sea of Galilea was not a place where you wanted to be as we hear in today’s Gospel. In that storm, Jesus is seen striding across the storm-tossed waters and bolsters the hesitant Peter.
We need to take this as a metaphor for our own storm-tossed lives. It all comes down to, in the middle of our own storms, will we have the faith that Jesus (God) is there prepared somehow to pull us out of the water if we start sinking.
