Stay Awake

Nov. 12, Mt 25:1-13

Be ready and stay awake are the themes of this week’s Gospel with the parable of 10 bridesmaids. Jesus is counseling us to not become complacent in our spiritual life. It’s difficult to stay tuned spiritually.

We have to be intentional about it and make the effort to pray and to put ourselves into good spiritual spaces. The reward, though, is a soulful feast and celebration, a joyfulness about life. To ignore our spiritual lives will mean being locked out of that party.
