Sunday Gospel Warm-up

Sept. 4 Luke 14:25-33

Hating your family is pretty tough words from Jesus this Sunday. Probably we would do well to focus our Jesus’ intent. God, and following Jesus has to be first in our lives. Nothing must hinder that relationship and often our ties to family and our obsession with our possessions detract us. In another place Jesus says we can’t have two masters, God and mammon. The best way to cure this is be generous to fault. Give until it hurts. You will be repaid in ways you never could have imagined.
