A Disciple Decision

Mark 1:14-20

To choose to be a disciple of Jesus is a decision and not an easy one at that. Most of us were raised in a Christian home, but that doesn’t exempt us from making that choice. In today’s Gospel, James and John leave their livelihood, their home, and, hardest of all, their father who is left working the family business with only his hired men. They left all and put all of their stock into following Jesus. This same choice is what we are all are asked to make. It’s easy to just attend church and give a few dollars to charity. It’s another world to seek out and learn the voice of Jesus calling and give all over to follow Him. When we do, we enter this new world that Jesus calls the Kingdom of God.
