Sept. 11, Luke 15:1-32 Divine Mercy

The parables we hear this weekend define, describe divine mercy for us. The lost sheep, the lost coin, the lost son (prodigal son), all describe God’s love that is unrelenting in the face of our sinfulness. God’s love is like the sun that constantly shines regardless of what we’ve done. The challenge being tossed in our direction is can we emulate such love and offer love likewise to the undeserving in our lives. Can we forgive 7 times 70? Can we turn the cheek and love those who hurt us? Will we carry another’s burden the extra mile? The call of the disciple is to love as Jesus loved (the cross) and as He loves us now.
