Ascension is Our Destiny

Mark 16:15-20

We celebrate the Ascension of Jesus this Sunday. In Jesus’ ascension to heaven, the revelation of God’s plan for creation and for us is complete. Jesus, the crucified Christ, reveals that from the beginning of time, the divine presence has always been here. Creation is not a random thing or a fallen world because of the evil. It all belongs within the divine plan. The world is held in the intimate embrace of God. Jesus’ coming into our world as a human being, suffering, dying, and raised up proclaims we have a special place in this plan. Jesus’ ascension is our destiny and future if we but follow His path in embracing divine love.
