A New Earth

John 20:19-23

Our destiny is heaven, but our job here and now is to bring a bit of heaven to earth.

This is Pentecost Sunday and we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit. The power of God is given to each of us and that power is simply to forgive and to heal. It is in offering that kind of love in our world that we bring Christ or divine love into our world, and the Kingdom of God here on earth is slowly built.

The reality of our world is hard to look at much less to think it can be transformed, but we’re living God’s dream for us and walking in Jesus footsteps who has already won the ultimate victory. In that there is always hope and certainty and reason to love more fervently.
