Sunday Gospel Warm-Up

July 24 Luke 11:1-13 Prayer and Disciples

Our recent Sunday Gospel readings come out of the section of Luke’s Gospel where Jesus’ teaching is about discipleship and ministry. In this Sunday’s reading, he focuses on prayer, but we should understand today’s teaching within that larger context on discipleship. And what is it we should be praying for in our discipleship; a greater capacity to forgive, persistence in our prayer, ask and believe that that it will be granted to you, seek and you will find, and always know that the heavenly Father knows what’s best for us far more than we ever will.
