May 8 John 10:27-30 Hear His Voice

The sheep hear His voice. The context for this gospel passage of the Good Shepherd is the conflict Jesus is having with the Jewish authorities. They reject the divine authority that Jesus is claiming and, for that very reason, are prepared to stone him for it. But the authority Jesus is claiming is that He does the work of the Father which is unconditional love, mercy, and compassion summed up by His sacrifice on the cross. The challenge to us is can we view our world through the lens of Jesus and God or do we too reject the way the God has chosen to love.
