Live the Liturgy ~ Inspiration for the Week

The human heart will always find itself wanting unless it finds its rest in God. Many people haven’t yet figured out that pursuing purely secular ideologies and interests and side stepping their relationship with God causes them to fall short of their potential. When we seek our satisfaction, seek our strength, and establish priorities based entirely on the things of this world, we come up empty. There is never enough and we are always reaching for more. We develop distorted senses of justice, lose our moral axis, and lower our benchmarks for change, growth, and development. That is why knowing the beatitudes and God’s vision they contain is so important. They remind us that our consumption, success driven lives can actually hurt and exploit others; quickly moving us away from God’s idea of how things need to look. God ultimately will set things straight. We can assist in that mission now by trusting, hoping, and looking to God for our cues for how to live, set goals for ourselves and discern the best way to share this world with our brothers and sisters.

VIVIR LA LITURGIA ~ INSPIRACIÓN DE LA SEMANA (Live the Liturgy)

El corazón humano siempre se encontrará necesitado a menos que encuentre su descanso en Dios. Muchas personas aún no se han dado cuenta de que perseguir ideologías e intereses puramente seculares y dejar de lado su relación con Dios hace que no alcancen su potencial. Cuando buscamos nuestra satisfacción, buscamos nuestra fortaleza y ​​establecemos prioridades basadas enteramente en las cosas de este mundo, nos quedamos vacíos. Nunca hay suficiente y siempre buscamos más. Desarrollamos sentidos distorsionados de la justicia, perdemos nuestro eje moral y rebajamos nuestros puntos de referencia para el cambio, el crecimiento y el desarrollo. Por eso es tan importante conocer las bienaventuranzas y la visión de Dios que contienen. Nos recuerdan que nuestras vidas impulsadas por el éxito y el consumismo en realidad pueden dañar y explotar a otros; alejándonos rápidamente de la idea de Dios de cómo deben verse las cosas. Dios arreglará las cosas en última instancia. Podemos asistir en esa misión ahora confiando, esperando y buscando en Dios nuestras señales de cómo vivir, establecer metas para nosotros mismos y discernir la mejor manera de compartir este mundo con nuestros hermanos y hermanas.
