Saints To Know – Pope Leo I

There’s been a lot of Pope Leos–13 so far. But only one is called “the great,” and that’s Pope Leo I, whose feast day is November 10th.

Most famously, he met with Attila the Hun and discouraged the warlord from invading Italy. But St. Leo was also an important Doctor of the Church, galvanized works of charity in Rome, and helped develop our understanding of papal authority.

Truly a “great” saint and one who can help us with his prayers today.
