Sept. 18, Luke 16:1-13 Be Heavenly Smart

We are all well versed in how the world works because we can’t help to be caught up in it. The world and human nature revolves around the 3 P’s; prestige, power, and possessions. Our human nature tends to want to accumulate one or all of these things and some of us get really good at it. Jesus holds up an image to us today of a worldly clever one who wins the admiration of his worldly boss by doubly cheating on him. Jesus then challenges us to become that smart and clever in the ways that God works. Authentic love is the arena of God, such love as revealed by Jesus and the cross. The truly wise and clever abandon the 3 P’s and give priority to love of God as shown by Jesus.
