Fall, a wonderful time of year! With Thanksgiving coming, I think many of us begin thinking about what we are grateful for in our lives. I hope you count All Saints Parish and your parish family among your blessings. I know I do.

A couple of weeks ago, I attended a conference on intergenerational ministry. I also attended this conference back in 2019. We began having Family Faith Formation be more intergenerational. I had been seeing it as a component, a piece of parish life.

Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to attend Mass at St. Joseph Church in Rockville, IN.

In the homily, we were reminded that the Feast of the Ascension is a time of transition. It is a time of change. 

Monday evening, May 1st, we joined with our community in celebrating the CAJE Nehemiah Action.  On this 20th Anniversary of CAJE, we celebrated many accomplishments for justice and several people who were instrumental in beginning the work of CAJE!  Thank you to everyone who has been part of CAJE during these past 20 years and welcome to those who joined us for the first time this year! 

First Communion

We will celebrate First Communion with Jameson, Louis, Micah, William, Rylee and Elle this Sunday, April 30th at our 10:30 am Mass.  They have been preparing all year specifically for this day. 

Discernment of Parish Council members

Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines discern as: “to detect with the eyes; to detect with senses other than vision; to recognize or identify as separate and distinct; to come to know or recognize mentally.”  I like these four definitions from Merriam-Webster.

It’s been an interesting few weeks. 

Thunder, lightning, tornadoes…

I want to thank Roy Ackerman and his friend Dan!  Some of you saw Dan flying his drone over the parish buildings on both campuses last weekend. 

We have now lived our first week of Lent…prayer, fasting, almsgiving.
We celebrated Ash Wednesday as a faith community. I hope you are finding some
Lenten resources on our parish website, Facebook, weekly e-news, Flocknotes and the
bulletin.

The past couple of months as Pastoral Life Coordinator have been interesting, fun, a learning experience. I’ve met with all the parish commissions and am beginning to understand their part in the life of the parish. I look forward to continuing to work with all the commissions.

Jesus, Expand Me that I may Walk as YOU would and that my Mercy shines light like a Light, In Your Name.
